Banks Wins Metro Council District 4 Race in Metro General Election
Receives 46 Percent of Votes Among Six Candidates, Prepares for Run-off on Sept. 15
Brady Banks, candidate for Metro Council in District 4, won the Metro Council race in District 4, in southeast Davidson County. Banks was able to secure 46 percent of the total votes cast, despite having opposition from five other candidates.
"Voters in District 4 said loud and clear tonight that our message of improving public schools, keeping neighborhoods safe, creating jobs, and keeping taxes low is the one they want communicated through their council person," Banks said. "As we met voters on their doorsteps this summer, we heard those concerns over and over, and I'm honored to have such broad support tonight. Now, we're ready to work even harder for the run-off election on September 15."
Council candidates must receive a "50 percent plus one" voter majority to win a council race. While Banks' 46 percent was near that number, he must enter into a run-off election on September 15. Early voting for the runoff election will begin August 26th and run through September 10th. Election Day for the runoff will be September 15.
District 4's borders are Hill Road (including Wakefield, Woodhurst, Hill Road Circle, San Marcos, and Thalman) and Old Hickory Boulevard to the north; Nolensville Road to the east; I-65 and Franklin Pike Circle to the west; and the Davidson County line to the south.
